Personal Warehouse

Warehouse space, sold and rented

Complete — reporting build delivered

Snapshot

What they do

A warehouse business that sells and rents warehouse space. Their platform is built around physical inventory rather than abstract records: projects hold buildings, buildings hold units, and opportunities attach to the specific unit they concern.

Where this stands

Delivered. The reporting estate was inventoried, a consolidation design agreed, and the build completed.

The relationship

Where they started

Reporting had grown one dashboard at a time. Each new project brought its own set of reports, so the same report existed many times over, differing only in which project it was pinned to — and every new project meant building the whole set again.

The same duplication ran through time as well as place: a report for this month and a near-identical twin for last month, maintained side by side, when the difference between them was a date range.

What we delivered

  • A report-by-report inventory of both live dashboards, taken from the real thing rather than from memory
  • A consolidation design: one generic report per shape, responding to a project filter set at the dashboard level, replacing the per-project duplicates
  • The same treatment for date-paired reports, so a single report answers for any period rather than being maintained in twos
  • A per-report task list covering every report in scope, including net-new reports and those needing verification
  • The build itself — the reports rebuilt against that design and delivered

What changed

A reporting estate that grew every time the business did now holds still. Reports respond to filters instead of multiplying, so the next project needs no new reports at all.

The inventory also established something they did not have before: a count. What existed, where it lived, and what each report was for — established by looking, not estimated.

In a sentence

Every new project used to mean building the whole reporting set again — now the reports answer to a filter, and the next project needs none.
